This rather classic one popped out of a series of many conversations with women who felt it was so natural to be maternal / nurturing, even with each other . . . but were learning that being paternal perhaps did not come so naturally to men, or at least it didn't seem to be on "automatic" . . . it was seemingly easier to find a mummy . . . than a daddy . . .

The song was written it in the late eighties, performed by my band at the time . . . I was on piano doing the "sixties mode" triplets.

Not growing up in the John Wayne Syndrome, guys today have become more sensitive, responsive and romantic. Maybe the sound vibration of the song drifted into the collective consciousness...

More please!

Unplugged
"Beyond the Pale"

[Meaning: Outside agreed standards of decency.

Origin The 'pale' derives from paling meaning fence. In the UK The Pale was the region of Dublin under English rule. There were also pales in other places . . . ]

This song was written with German producer/arranger Yak Bundy in London, whom I met through EMI Publishing. It was written for my 60's / 90's three girl group "Girltalk" [featuring Girl].

Yak wrote the music in the Sixties' sound and I gave it a melody and lyrics.

"Beyond the pale

someone with a view

is wishing to share love with you..."

"Did you think there was some mistake?

The people find themselves awake in a dawning

All over the world."
